An early morning crash on November 2, 2019 called for a Plano Fire-Rescue truck to block the scene as workers rendered aid and investigations began. The crash injured one firefighter, who was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the second vehicle that crashed into the truck was also taken to a hospital, with serious injuries.

Utilizing a large fire truck to block the scene of an accident and slow traffic is often used to assist police crews to assist with the scene. This is especially important with aiding in extrication, investigations, and medical treatment.
