3 Vehicle Crash Fatality Injuries in Post Oak Bend on FM 987
On the evening of November 22, 2019, three vehicles crashed, killing one and injuring 8 others. Preliminary reports say an SUV was traveling southbound on FM 987 when it veered over the center stripe after a curve. At that point it struck another SUV traveling northbound. That second SUV had 5 occupants, including a child. When the second SUV was struck, it was stopped in the roadway and struck by a Jeep. The jeep had two young adults and a baby inside. When the Jeep hit, it sent the second SUV into a ditch, causing the 22-year-old male occupant to be ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
The drivers of both SUV’s were airlifted to hospitals, one in critical condition. Everyone else involved were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
