Head-on Crash Kills One in Johnson County
On the afternoon of May 24, 2020, a pickup traveling east on FM 917 in Johnson County
hit an SUV head-on after veering into westbound lanes near County Road 808. The SUV
driver, a 71-year-old man, was killed at the scene. The pickup driver, a 55-year-old woman,
was taken to a hospital for injuries. It is unknown why the pickup truck veered into the SUV's lane which ultimately killed the elderly man. We suspect driving while texting was involved. We urge the family of the deceased to contact us regarding a possible wrongful death claim.
