[00:00:07.06] I was born in Fort Worth and grew up in a small town in Hillsboro, [00:00:10.12] about an hour south of here. [00:00:12.17] It's funny, I never really wanted anything other than to be a lawyer. [00:00:16.21] Nobody in my family was a lawyer. [00:00:19.10] I was only the second person in my family to go to college. [00:00:22.05] My mom always told me that I was really good at arguing [00:00:25.17] and I ought to be a lawyer. [00:00:27.12] I went to Baylor undergraduate [00:00:29.12] for the sole purpose of going to their law school, [00:00:31.07] because they had a famous trial lawyer program, [00:00:33.09] and that's where I wanted to go. [00:00:34.19] For some reason, I always wanted to be in the courtroom and representing people, [00:00:38.09] and I never really knew what type of law I wanted to practice. [00:00:41.18] When I was in law school, I took a class on personal injury law, [00:00:45.08] and once a week, a trial lawyer would come in and tell stories about his cases, [00:00:50.01] and I would listen to him and just think in my mind, that's what I want to do. [00:00:54.15] I've actually been on both sides of the docket, as we say. [00:00:57.06] I spent about 10 years defending personal injury claims, [00:01:01.02] but for 20 years I've been representing the victims of personal injury. [00:01:04.13] I chose it because I like to represent the little guy, [00:01:07.14] kind of the David versus Goliath situation. [00:01:10.23] You have to be a good listener, and that's what I've always tried to do. [00:01:14.12] That's what we try to do at Rocky Walton Injury Lawyers, [00:01:17.02] is listen to our clients and stay in constant communication with them.
