Lawyer Rocky Walton

[00:00:00.00] All my family and all my friends call me Rocky. [00:00:04.07] I got that nickname when I was about 2 years old. [00:00:07.22] My babysitter gave it to me, and it stuck. [00:00:19.10] When I was a sophomore in high school, my dad was going to business college [00:00:25.20] to try to improve his life, improve his skills and work and all that. [00:00:32.00] One of his books was Business Law. [00:00:35.18] I got this book and I read it from cover to cover, and I just loved it. [00:00:42.02] It was so inspiring to me. [00:00:45.15] That made me want to become a lawyer. [00:00:48.04] When I was in the 10th grade, I announced to my family [00:00:54.16] at my grandfather's house I wanted to become a lawyer. [00:00:59.05] He said, "Rocky, you'll never make a lawyer." [00:01:04.11] I wasn't insulted by it. [00:01:08.23] I was challenged by it. [00:01:14.04] My specialty in law is personal injury trial law. [00:01:18.21] I wanted to deal with the common man. [00:01:21.09] I was helping real people with their real problems. [00:01:25.16] Also, I enjoyed it because I was compensated [00:01:29.12] based on results [00:01:32.04] and not effort. [00:01:33.13] You get compensated by what you achieve for your clients. [00:01:38.19] I've been practicing law for 50 years. [00:01:41.18] I just love it. [00:01:43.22] Even though I'm past retirement age, I'm still practicing because I enjoy it [00:01:49.09] so much and I enjoy helping people.
